It's Friday! I've survived two full weeks of grad school! What a glorious thing....It seemed like it passed in a second. What's scary is that I'm not half as busy as I'm going to be in a week, and this summer definitely confirmed a relationship I have observed a few times before...increasing how busy you are makes time pass exponentially faster. I still can't believe that in two years, I'll be a practicing SLP! How amazing and crazy and SOON THAT IS!!
So you're going to have to get used to me updating every week or so, because I have no good reason to be on here more often than that when I have so much else to get done :)
Today has been great...Over the past few minutes, I've stumbled upon a bunch of awesome So You Think You Can Dance clips that really moved me years and years ago when they originally aired. I haven't watched the show consistently in at least two years, which is sad. I need to get back on that...maybe this summer? Great things, mostly contemporary dances...Allison and Ivan, Travis and Heidi, Twitch and Kherington, Chelsie and Mark...and many more. So good.
Yesterday I listened to an album for the first time...Hurry Up, We're Dreaming by M83. IT WAS AMAZING. If anyone out there likes Passion Pit or like styles, you might absolutely love this.
I feel like listening to Washed Out next...Anything to remind me of boyfriend :)
Next weekend is the Black Swamp Arts Festival in BG! If you know what's good for you and you live in the area, you should be there! It's great! My boyfriend is coming up to visit that weekend...I've hounded him enough about it for him to actually make the trip ;)
I'm watching Rent right now. I always feel skeptical watching it...even though I've seen it many times (and had both the Broadway and movie soundtracks since high school), I keep falling into the thought that it's overrated. But every time I get the half-urge to watch it and actually have the motivation to put it in, I remember why I loved it so much in the first place. Yes, it's like that South Park episode, everyone's all like "we're all dying of AIDS." But there's so much more than that. The music is absolutely to die for. And though some characters are absolutely irritating in every way (I've always hated Maureen's numbers, other than "Take Me or Leave Me," of course), the whole show has such a more accessible feel than most other musicals. It's so sad that the creator died before he could see it flourish as a show...
Okay. I totally didn't want this to turn into a rant about Rent. Haha.
But I have very little else to talk about other than being so busy, so I'm just going to stop talking now :)
More later!!
