Updated information as per 2012 presented like this :)
Nice to meet you!
Hello. This is me. |
I am one of two children: I have one younger sister, who is a junio in college right now. I have a huge family, and I love it. I'm a member of the International Thespian Society, and accumulated over 1000 hours in Theatre during my time in high school. I also participated in marching band (color and winter guard, more specifically), but only through sophomore year. I love art, mythology (especially Greek and Roman), history (but specifically Greek and Roman), and I love mastering challenges.
I have a dog and a cat, and while my dog and I have an obviously positive and healthy relationship, my cat seems to hate me. I think it's because we traumatized her as a kitten, for lack of knowing better (my sis and I were about 8-10 years old at the time, and kids will be kids, I guess).
I am a movie fanatic, though since college started, I haven't been able to watch nearly as many as I used to (for lack of money and time). Some of my favorite movies are "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", "American Beauty", "Clue", "Zoolander" and "Titanic." Some of my favorite actors include Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman, John Krasinski, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, amongst others.
While the past year hasn't been the most exciting for me movie-viewing-wise, I have found that I love the movies "Memento," "500 Days of Summer," "Pulp Fiction," and a few others that I don't remember right now :) Oh, and of course, all of the Disney classics!!
On the book front, I've always been a huge fan of "Harry Potter", and recently I've started reading "the Song of Ice and Fire" series, which has been slow (due to my lack of spare time more than anything), but great! Everyone should read them............and everyone should stop posting spoilers to Facebook!!!! It ruins my day!!!!!
I'm currently in graduate school studying to be a speech-language pathologist (hence the depressing lack of activity!). College has been an adventure...I was an an honors student in undergrad (as evidenced by the 50 page paper I had to write in the first semester of my freshman year...ouch), and completed an honors project during my senior year. It was a research project on the types of information 4-5 year olds learn when they fast map new words into their lexicons. While the study wasn't the most amazing success (it turned into a more effective pilot study for further testing), I learned quite a lot!
I've found an awesome group of friends here in college. One of my roommates (the one I'm around most) is the perfect guys' girl, and so we chill all the time, and she helps satiate my hunger for new video games (the only system I've ever owned, until recently, was a Nintendo 64). I have a bunch of other friends in my major, who are perfectly girly and with whom I love spending some quality girl time with. Basically my friends are awesome and provide me with a nice range of silly situations.
Now that I'm a grad student, I've found even more awesome friends in my major! While many of my friends from undergrad have gone their own ways, we still keep in touch. The new girls I've found here at BG have been fabulous, and I can already tell I'll miss them so much when this is over!
I've been dating my current boyfriend since freshman year of college, though we have known each other for longer. We went to the same high school, and funny enough, we didn't start dating until we began attending different colleges. We've made it work, though, and are happy together. If you are into music review blogs, you should also check out my boyfriend's blog here :)
that's actually another thing that's changed! My FIANCEE (!!!!!!!!!!!!) has been contributing to a different site, posting reviews for albums that have been coming out. The updated link is here, and you can find his work under the Music > Reviews tabs at the top!
Okay that's all I can think of for a quick introduction; if you want to get to know me better, read my posts!
Thanks for reading!
