SUMMER HAPPENINGS

Hello again, long time no post! My bad.

It's been a pretty awesome summer thus far. I believe I've already spoken about my work schedule...I'm working a lot more than I have in summers past (which is GREAT), but I'm not working hours that I'm used to. I open at least three days a week, and it's really making me sleepy! I hate having to go to bed by 9, but it's what I have to do in order to feel remotely rested.

Me and my catch on day one!
My family went on a vacation to Pymatuning recently, during which I caught sooo many fish! I also learned to clean and filet them, which was slightly disturbing (one kept flipping about, though it was certainly dead, and another's eye fell out unpredictably) but very informative! I even grew enough courage to bait my own hooks (I just can't stab little minnows without thinking "I'm so sorry!!!!!!") by the end!

Lately I've been hooping a lot (as you know), and I'm in the mood to do some more! I'm going to buy some more tube (100 PSI, 1/2" inner diameter polyethylene) so I can make hoops of a different size, which should prove to be better for learning tricks. The hoops and tube I have right now are great for exercise, because it's so heavy, but it gets pretty hard to learn tricks with hoops that feel like they could crush my larynx. Not good! Haha. Anyway, I've found some tube at Lowe's for dirt cheap, so I'm going to start this new adventure probably next week.

Speaking of next week, MY LITTLE SISTER'S COMING HOME FROM HER INTERNSHIP TO SPEND THE WEEK WITH US! YAY! She's only been gone (working for Honda!) for two weeks now, but I miss her. She's super fun! She and my family are going to finally see my boyfriend's parent's lakehouse soon, too, which should be tons of fun! I'm really excited for the near future.

I've been knitting a lot lately! I finally learned the lesson that you can't start a project in the same season you intend to finish. I usually try to abide by the philosophy that "too much is always better than not enough," but it seems I'd forgotten that in this regard. But nevermore! Here is some yarn that I'm currently working with!

I just got some new knitting needles (See above) for my sister, mom and myself. It's times like these that I love working at Jo-Ann's: I put price changes on item at the start of the day, so I know what's on clearance first! I got these really nice 10" redwood needles for $2.97 per pair! Lovely.

Another exciting thing...I HAVE A PLACE TO LIVE IN BG NEXT YEAR! On the 17th of June my mother and I found an apartment (efficiency/studio) that I am in love with, and I'm super excited to live there! I've been collecting things lately for when I go to live there, including the following...

The most beautiful measuring spoons EVER!
I'll add more pics as I take them, but I LOVE some of the things I've found. I just got myself a legitimate set of silverware, and I grabbed a coffee pot from my neighbor's yard the other day! It holds 12 cups and works great, but takes 10 minutes to warm up. Oh well! I'm still on the market for some dishes, but that might be solved in the near future, thanks to some serendipitous events in my family. I can't wait to report more about my apartment as I learn and accumulate more!

Okay, that's a good enough update for now, I'll talk to you more later!
<3 Allie
